SYNOPSIS

ONLY ON EARTH takes us on an immersive and visually striking journey into Southern Galicia, one of Europe’s most vulnerable wildfire zones. During the hottest summer on record, both humans and animals struggle to cope as inextinguishable fires draw closer.

Wild horses have roamed the Galician mountains for centuries, playing a crucial role in fire prevention by curbing flammable undergrowth – but their numbers are dwindling as human development clashes with nature. Through the eyes of the horses, a young cowboy, a seasoned fire analyst, a devoted equine vet, and a farming family on the frontlines, the film reflects on the fragile balance of our natural world and human-animal relations.

Synopsis

In early 2020, at least four officers from the National Police infiltrated various social movements in the Catalan Countries. Under false identities, María Perelló arrives in Girona, Ramón Martínez in Valencia, and Daniel Hernández and Marc Hernández in Barcelona. All four are part of the 33rd class of the Ávila Police Academy and operate under the orders of the General Commissariat of Information. Two years later, a journalistic investigation by the Directa reveals the real identities and backgrounds of these officers.

The report Infiltrated, broadcast on the TV3 program 30 Minuts (January 2025), sparks a debate about these types of operations and reveals, for the first time, the mistakes they made, which were key to exposing them. It also addresses the impact of these infiltrations on the collectives and individuals who were spied on, through interviews with affected parties, lawyers, experts, and police officers.

Synopsis

On their roller-coaster ride trying to become pregnant using assisted reproduction, Anna (40) and Ari (32) – a two-woman couple – invite us into the intimacy of their home where we go on an amusing, bitter-sweet adventure.
Their journey is harder and longer than expected: 116 weeks, 5 embryo transfers, 745 pills, and 67 injections. So the jokes must come in thick and fast in order to face all the ups and downs of what seems like an endless scientific experiment. Things sometimes go badly but comedy always comes to the rescue.

Synopsis

Balomania reveals a secret society of hot air balloon makers in Brazil’s favelas who are willing to sacrifice everything in order to fly their illegal creations, some up to 70 meters high, with fireworks.

The film’s director is initiated into the balloon brotherhood under the tutelage of legendary balloon creators like Jabá and balloon “hunters” including Ton. She forms her own complicated relationships with these extraordinary flying objects and their makers.

Balomania take us on a surreal and intimate journey in a country also confronting socio-economic decline and political collapse. It calls into question our preconceived ideas of favela communities, showing the true power of art.

Synopsis

Three ageing brothers must face an uncertain future and the inevitable end to years of self-imposed isolation as the abandoned village of Escó in Spain, where they have lived all their lives, faces its second threat of extinction.

Brothers Evaristo, Félix and Baltasar Guallar are the only inhabitants of Escó, a crumbling village in Aragón, Spain. They have lived there alone all their adult lives. Now their insular world is under threat. In 1959, Escó was expropriated under Franco’s regime: the Guallar family were the only inhabitants to remain. Today, the construction of a motorway to the Pyrenees threatens Escó’s existence once again. What will be the final fate of the brothers and the curious place they call home?

Acclaimed French director Denis Delestrac, who has known Steve McCurry for two decades, uncovers the photographer’s private universe layer by layer. Observing him while at work in places such as India and Papua New Guinea, in his New York city studio or at home with his wife and newborn child in Arizona, we will meet the man behind the images in close-up. Exploring some of McCurry’s best works with him, we discover they are all part of a quest to unite us in a single, monumental tale of human connection.

In 1994 and at the height of his career, Jacobo Grinberg mysteriously disappeared. The strange circumstances of his disappearance have given rise to multiple hypotheses and theories that have hindered shedding light on the case.

Considered by many to be the “Einstein of consciousness”, Grinberg took the study of psychophysiology beyond the limits of traditional science in his attempt to map the infinite potential of the human brain. Serious and meticulous, a professor at UNAM, National Autonomous University of Mexico, and director of a modern laboratory, Dr. Grinberg researched and experimented to the point of proving the first signs of telepathy.

Following the investigations of Chief Superintendent Clemente Padilla, this documentary reconstructs the surprising and real facts that lead up to the disappearance of Dr. Grinberg. An amazing journey through the exotic locations of Mexico, the United States, India, Nepal, Barcelona and Madrid.
