{"id":7274,"date":"2026-06-11T12:22:16","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T10:22:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.polarstarfilms.com\/?p=7274"},"modified":"2026-06-11T12:22:16","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T10:22:16","slug":"understory-prepares-for-its-next-stage-post-production","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polarstarfilms.com\/en\/understory-prepares-for-its-next-stage-post-production\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Understory&#8221; Prepares for Its Next Stage: Post-Production"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polarstarfilms.com\/en\/portfolio\/seeing-green\/\">The documentary <b>Understory<\/b> (formerly known as <i>Seeing Green<\/i>)<\/a> continues to move forward in production and is preparing to enter a key new phase: post-production.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by Canadian filmmaker <b>Su Rynard<\/b>, the film invites audiences to explore the complex relationships that connect plants, trees, and human beings, drawing on some of the most innovative research in plant intelligence, interspecies communication, and forest ecology.<\/p>\n<p>The documentary features three leading voices in the field: writer and biologist <b>Robin Wall Kimmerer<\/b>, an internationally recognized authority on the intersection of Indigenous knowledge and science; Spanish researcher <b>Paco Calvo<\/b>, a pioneer in the study of plant cognition; and forest ecologist <b>Suzanne Simard<\/b>, whose groundbreaking research has revealed the underground communication networks that connect trees.<\/p>\n<p>The production is led by executive producer <b>Nadine Pequeneza<\/b>, with <b>Carles Brugueras<\/b> and <b>Marieke van den Bersselaar<\/b> serving as producers. Cinematography is by <b>Sean Stiller<\/b>, while editing is being handled by <b>Caroline Christie<\/b>.
