About La Fuerza<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Set against the tumultuous backdrop of the Spanish Civil War,\u00a0La Fuerza<\/em>\u00a0tells the gripping story of pioneering French philosopher Simone Weil, who arrives in Spain in 1936 to witness the anarchist revolution firsthand. Drawn into the armed struggle against dictator Franco\u2019s fascist army,\u00a0she soon finds herself deeply conflicted between\u00a0her\u00a0staunch\u00a0pacifist ideals and the brutal reality of war. As the conflict unfolds, she embarks on a profound journey of moral reckoning, which\u00a0will shake, and rebuild,\u00a0the very principles that have defined her life.<\/p>\n

The script for\u00a0La Fuerza\u00a0is a collaboration between filmmaker\u00a0Xavier Artigas, who recently published a book on\u00a0Simone Weil,\u00a0\u201cViure la For\u00e7a\u201d\u00a0(Live the Force),\u00a0and acclaimed screenwriter Pamela Katz. Katz is widely\u00a0recognised\u00a0for her collaborations with renowned filmmaker Margarethe von Trotta, having co-written\u00a0Hannah Arendt\u00a0(2012),\u00a0Rosenstrasse\u00a0(2003), and\u00a0Vision\u00a0(2009), all of which explore powerful historical figures and political themes with depth and nuance.<\/p>\n
