One genius, two kings, and their dream to construct a building that will rival the heavens. After realising that his besieged Kingdom of Granada is doomed to disappear, the Sultan Yusuf I embarks on the construction of a building that will reflect the splendour of their civilization and will defy oblivion: the palaces of the Alhambra. His vizier, Ibn al-Khatib, a poet, and a genius ahead of his time, takes part and records this colossal challenge in his chronicle. But when the Sultan\u2019s son, Muhammad V, inherits the throne and involves the vizier in his new political vision, Ibn al-Khatib is torn between the principles of the old world and the new one that is now emerging.<\/p>\n
