at the 68th Berlinale last week.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.polarstarfilms.com\/img\/4news\/TV3-interviews-Meritxell-Colell-about-Con-el-Viento_Facing-The-Wind.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Showing to packed theatres at all 5 shows, this tender tale of return and reconciliation struck a chord amongst critics and general public alike.<\/p>\n<p>The subtle yet profound portrayal of family situations moved Alfonso Rivera from Cineeuropa who noted how: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/cineuropa.org\/nw.aspx?t=newsdetail&l=en&did=348102\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the smallest gestures end up making a dent in the armour of those who left their world behind<\/a>\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>Luis Martin\u00e9z from El Mundo also lauded the transparent emotion of reality that the film depicts, calling it \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.elmundo.es\/cultura\/cine\/2018\/02\/17\/5a885e8546163fe6268b4606.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a debut worthy of comparison to\u00a0<em>Summer 1993<\/em><\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFilm that dances while hardly moving\u201d is how Salvador Llopart from La Vanguardia described Facing the Wind, touched by the serene images and the emotion of the dance.<\/p>\n<p>Interviews with Meritxell Colell were extremely sought after during the festival, with the director giving more than twenty interviews to international and national press.<\/p>\n<p>The director\u2019s connection to the successful Spanish women\u2019s filmmaking scene was also a popular topic, Emilio Mayorga from Variety Magazine noted how Meritxell Colell and her peers are spearheading a comeback for Catalan and Spanish cinema since funding was slashed due to cutbacks during the economic crisis, commenting that \u201cmore than half of the [Catalan] auteurist movies and debuts \u2014 about 15 features \u2014 are directed by women, nearly all from a new generation of filmmakers.\u201d<br \/>\n<em>Facing the Wind\u2019s\u00a0<\/em>distribution since the world premiere at Berlin is looking good as several festivals are on the horizon, and Numax Distribution (<em>Mimosas<\/em>) has snapped up the film for cinema theatres in Spain.<\/p>\n<p>Be the first
