We’re absolutely delighted to share that Mums, directed by Ariadna Seuba Serra, has won the Audience Award at DocsBarcelona 2025!
This heartwarming and hilariously honest documentary struck a powerful chord with festivalgoers, who embraced its candid portrayal of the roller-coaster ride that is assisted reproduction. With humor, vulnerability, and unwavering love, Mums invites viewers into the intimate world of Anna and Ari— a two-woman couple navigating the ups and downs of trying to become pregnant through science, patience, and a lot of jokes.
Their journey spans 116 weeks, 5 embryo transfers, 745 pills, and 67 injections—and yet the film never loses its spark. When things go wrong, comedy steps in. Mums is a celebration of queer love, resilience, and finding laughter in the darkest of moments.
